As well as walking - and Tel Aviv is a fab city to walk around, effortlessly for miles (locally it’s kilometres) - cycling is another great way to explore a new city. As well as walking - and Tel Aviv is a fab city to walk around.

With over 2,000 bicycles in the Tel Aviv-Yafo area, you can easily hire a bike in Tel Aviv by the hour, day or week for this purpose.

As you might expect, there’s also an app that makes it easy to locate and return the bikes.

And if you take the bike for only 30 minutes your journey is free!

The website is called Tel-o-fun (in Hebrew that’s Tel’ofan - where “ofanayim” is the word for bicycle so “ofan” is the first part of the word)

This link takes you to the Tel-o-fun bicycle’s home page in English: https://www.tel-o-fun.co.il/en/ - everything is very well explained on the website.

The app is called: telobike: Tel-Aviv Bicycle - confusing and so what, it works! Here's an image of the app so you know what it looks like.

Note: there is an access fee as well as a fee for the time you then use the bike from the moment you unlock it from the bicycle locking station.

There are loads of bicycle pick-up points all over Tel Aviv - with quite a few accessible within a few minutes walk from the apartment at Reines 5 - I’ve highlighted them for you to see in the photo here.
